Massimiliano Fuksas, aged 23, opened a practice in Rome in 1967. The franchise then expanded to Paris and Vienna. Teaching in the Staadtliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart, the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna, Columbia University in New York, and La Sapienza University in Rome meant that he was both nominated and won the Vitruvio International a la Trayectoria Award in Buenos Aires for his outstanding career.

In 1979, Doriana Mandrelli graduated in History of Art from La Sapienza University in her native Rome. She then attended and taught Architecture at the same school. She was awarded with the honour of Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la République Française in 2002.
