Robert Berking was originally a silversmith by trade. While completing his master craftsman certificate, he fell in love with Henriette Robbe, the daughter of his master. After the couple wed, Berking took a 50 percent holding in the small company. Within 12 years, the young and highly skilled master silversmith expanded and developed a range of cutlery. The company's first Factory was built in Flensburg at the turn of the 20th century and became Northern Germany's most well-respected silversmith. Now in its 5th generation of Berking-leadership, Robbe and Berking now stands as one of Germany's most successful luxury brands.
